08/02/2016 ~ Keys Energy Services (KEYS) is sending five linemen to Gainesville, Florida, to assist with post-Hurricane Hermine power restoration. KEYS’ crew will be joining personnel from Florida utilities and contractors to assist Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) and other regional utilities with power restoration.

The winds and torrential rains of Hermine downed countless power lines and poles leading to widespread power outages throughout northern Florida. KEYS’ linemen, along with two bucket trucks, one digger truck, a utility service truck, and a utility pole trailer, departed for Gainesville on Friday, September 2nd. They will likely assist GRU with power restoration efforts to their 93,000 customers over the weekend before being released to assist utilities in the panhandle area.

“Our crew is looking forward to lending their unique hurricane restoration experience to our fellow public power utilities in Gainesville and helping light the path to recovery,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO. KEYS’ five-person crew is anticipating an initial five-day run as they assist with power restoration.
