POST-IRMA TRANSMISSION LINE REPAIRS TO IMPACT BOATERS AND WATER ACTIVITY

10/02/2017 ~ Keys Energy Services (KEYS) will begin work on Thursday, October 5th, removing and replacing four transmission line (TIELINE) poles, and related power lines and hardware that were downed during Hurricane Irma. The poles are located behind Big Coppitt and Rockland Keys, on the gulf side, near the Toppino bridge.

The work is scheduled to last an estimated two weeks and the immediate area will be closed to boaters and all water activity during that time.

Multiple barges, drilling equipment, boats transporting equipment and bucket trucks, and overhead line work will make the area dangerous. Boaters who access the Gulf under the Toppino bridge are urged to stay clear of the area during the construction period. Those who plan to engage in water activities should consider temporarily relocating their boats until construction is complete.

There will be no interruption in electrical service during the scheduled repair work.
