11/13/2017 ~ On November 17, 2017, Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Dale Finigan, will retire after 30-years of continuous service to the Utility.

Finigan was originally hired in 1987, when the Utility was named City Electric System, after working for two summers as a college engineering intern. During his tenure he held the positions of Electrical Engineer, Supervisor of Electrical/Substations, and Superintendent of Engineering prior to completing his career as the Director of Engineering and Control.

Recalling the biggest changes he has witnessed over the years, Finigan noted reliability improvements, the use of technology for reliability and power quality improvements, and the storm hardening of electrical distribution. When asked about his most memorable experience at KEYS Finigan said it, “has to be Hurricane Irma and the incredible restoration response of the employees and how our storm hardening efforts paid off.” In discussing the secret to his longevity he attributed it to, “taking family recreational vehicle (RV) vacations to recharge.”

Finigan and his wife of 30-years, Lesley, raised their children Bobby and Kaitlyn in Key West. In retirement Finigan plans to spend more time with his family and indulge in his passion of RVing. After a 30-year career at KEYS, he has earned the right to ride his RV off into the sunset and take the road wherever it leads.
