KEYS ENERGY SERVICES’ SHARON E. RODRIGUEZ RETIRES AFTER 29 + YEARS OF SERVICE

12/23/2004 ~ As yet another year comes to a close, so does the career of a Keys Energy Services (KEYS) employee who dedicated 29 ˝ years of distinguished service to the utility.

Sharon E. Rodriguez (Hatker), employed with KEYS since July 1975, will officially retire on December 31, 2004, and bring to a close a chapter in her life filled with hard work, dedication, and loyalty to KEYS.

Rodriguez started working at KEYS as a Contract Clerk, original name for a Customer Service Representative, when City Electric System (CES) graced the utilities’ letterhead. Through the years she held positions in Customer Services, the Commercial Department, and Engineering.

The majority of her tenure at KEYS, approximately 25 years, was spent as the Executive Assistant to four General Managers: Robert R. Padron, Leo Carey, Larry Thompson, and Carl Jansen.

When asked what have been some of the biggest changes she has experienced at KEYS during her nearly three decade career, Rodriguez stated, “the reduction in the amount of employees and outages with the inception of the tieline,” as some of the most memorable.

In reminiscing about her times at 1001 James Street, Rodriguez attributed her longevity to a company with great benefits and the fact that she met her husband at KEYS. Among the things she will miss the most will be the camaraderie with her fellow co-workers and the friends she has made at KEYS throughout the years.

Rodriguez plans on relaxing for awhile after her retirement, before exploring options on what to do to occupy her new-found free time. No doubt she has earned the right to take her time in making a decision.
