01/12/2006 ~ The Utility Board awarded the contract for a Fleet Tracking Management System to Interfleet, Inc. for a first year cost of $60,224, their bid being the best bid complying with specifications, at its regular meeting on January 11th. The contract will cover vehicle hardware, installation, and associated fees.

The Management System involves a web-hosted Automatic Vehicle Locate (AVL) wireless solution to manage mobile resources, with a mobile data processing unit (MDU) installed in each Key Energy Services (KEYS) vehicle. Upon vehicle ignition, the vehicle will report automatically to the Tracking Management System. This system will help to further improve safety, customer response times, vehicle maintenance, and overall productivity.

The duration of the base contract for the system will be for one year, if KEYS is satisfied with the services, KEYS and Interfleet, Inc. can extend the contract for four additional one year extensions.

The regular meeting of the Utility Board took place at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11th, in the Louis Carbonell Board Room of the William Arnold Service Building, 1001 James Street, Key West.
