01/30/2006 ~ James Barry, Plant Shift Operator, has been named Keys Energy Servicesí (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter for 2006.

Barry has worked for the utility for three years and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day duties of the Operations Section. Prior to his current position, Barry was an Auxiliary Operator and Shift Leader.

Barry said he finds the constant learning environment of his position very rewarding and enjoys the friendships he has forged with his co-workers.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

Barry was born in Tippeary, Ireland, and moved to the Florida Keys in 1997. In his spare time Barry enjoys reading and listening to music.

The Utility Board recognized Barry as the Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter for 2006 and presented him with a $100 bonus during their regular meeting on January 25th. His name was engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, and he received an extra day off.
