UTILITY BOARD APPROVES AGREEMENT FOR CENTRAL SEWAGE SYSTEM WITH KEY WEST RESORT UTILITIES

06/29/2006 ~ The Utility Board approved an agreement for a Central Sewage System, at Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Stock Island Generating Facility, with Key West Resort Utilities at their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 28th.

On April 27, 2005, the Board approved a Joint Project Agreement with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority to install an island wastewater collection system from both Stock Island properties to Key West Resort Utilities wastewater treatment plant located on Front Street in Stock Island.

In connection with this project, KEYS is required to pay Key West Resort Utilities an estimated $68,980.00, which represents Impact, Engineering, and Inspection Fees. KEYS’ total budgeted cost for this project is $544,297.00.

In other business, the Board:

- Approved an updated sponsorship and in-kind service policy to better regulate the amount of monetary and in-kind service sponsorships KEYS offers to community groups and organizations.

- Approved the purchase of one 2003 100-foot bucket truck from Global Rental Company, Inc. at a cost of $195,000.00, less the trade-in value of $35,000.00, with an actual net cost of $160,000.00.

The regular meeting of the Utility Board took place at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28th, in the Louis Carbonell Board Room of the William Arnold Service Building, 1001 James Street, Key West.
