SMITH NAMED OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE OF THE SECOND QUARTER

04/17/2007 ~ Vin Smith has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2007.

Smith has worked for the utility for 13 years and was recently promoted to Geographical Information System (GIS) / Autocad Operator within KEYS’ Engineering department. In his current position Smith develops plans for various engineering projects and maintains KEYS facilities in the GIS. Prior to his current position, Smith was a Load Dispatcher in KEYS’ Dispatch Center.

Smith said he enjoys, “seeing projects evolve from initial drawings to completed facilities as well as working in a stable and friendly work environment.”

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

Smith was born in Mobile, Alabama, and moved to the Florida Keys in 1991. He lives in Big Coppitt with his wife Tina and they have two children, daughter Ava Nicole (26) and son Vinson Keith (23). In his spare time, Smith enjoys fishing and diving in the Florida Keys.

The Utility Board will recognize Smith as the Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2007 during their regular meeting on April 25th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, and he will receive a $250 bonus and an extra day off.
