07/02/2007 ~ Dave Gerstenkorn has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Third Quarter for 2007.

Gerstenkorn has worked for the utility for 15 years and currently serves as a Project Engineer. In his current position Gerstenkorn oversees engineering design and offers technical support for the Transmission & Distribution and Generation departments. Prior to his current position, Gerstenkorn served as a Substation Supervisor, General Engineer, and Plant Engineer within KEYS.

Gerstenkorn said he enjoys, “the opportunity to help keep the power on as well as the team spirit fostered at KEYS.”

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

Gerstenkorn was born in South Bend, Indiana, and moved to the Florida Keys in 1987. He lives in Big Pine Key with his wife Pamela and in his spare time enjoys reading and at-home projects. Gerstenkorn is a graduate of Rose Polytechnic in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Utility Board will recognize Gerstenkorn as the Outstanding Employee of the Third Quarter for 2007 during their regular meeting on July 11th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, and he will receive a $250 bonus and an extra day off.
