10/15/2007 ~ Patrick Nolan has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2007.

Nolan has worked for the Utility for a little over two years and currently serves as a power plant operator within KEYS’ Generation department. In his current position Nolan operates and monitor’s all power plant equipment to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all generating units.

Nolan said he enjoys, “learning something everyday as well as the team spirit fostered at KEYS.”

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

James Barry, KEYS’ acting plant superintendent said that Nolan, “is the kind of employee who always has his fellow employee’s best interest at heart and is always willing to go the extra mile to help.”

Nolan was born in Dublin, Ireland, and moved to the Florida Keys in 2000. He lives in Key West with his wife Dawn and six-year old daughter Leila. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family.

The Utility Board will recognize Nolan as the Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2007 during their regular meeting on October 24th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, and he will receive a $250 bonus and an extra day off.
