04/08/2010 ~ Sylvia Adams has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2010.

Adams has worked for the Utility for 21-years and currently serves as the Delinquent Accounts Office Representative in KEYS’ Customer Services department. She is responsible for the collection of outstanding bills by way of payment arrangements and/or disconnection of service.

Adams said she enjoys being in a position, “to help customers at their toughest times.” She added that her co-workers at KEYS, “have always been extraordinary and when the chips are down they are right there to support you.”

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

Adams was born and raised in Key West and graduated from Key West High School in 1969. She lives with her husband, James, in Key West and they have one son, James Jr. She enjoys watching television, reading, crossword puzzles and drawing in her spare time.

The Utility Board will recognize Adams as the Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2010 during their regular meeting on Wednesday, April 14th. Her name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, she will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra day off.
