10/13/2011 ~ Manny Sanchez has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2011.

Sanchez has worked for the Utility since 1991 and currently serves as an Operator Maintainer in KEYS’ Generation department. He is currently responsible for the maintenance and operation of all KEYS’ generation units.

Prior to his current position he held numerous positions during his 20-year tenure at KEYS, including Diesel Tech and General Helper. What he finds most rewarding about KEYS is, “working around some great people and learning from my co-workers.” Sanchez was born and raised in Key West, where he still lives with his wife Darcy and children: Symone, Jelena, and Christopher.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

The Utility Board recognized Sanchez as the Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2011 during their regular meeting on Wednesday, October 12th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra day off.
