08/31/2012 ~ Josh Yarbrough, Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Journeyman Lineman, passed away in the line of duty on August 30, 2012 – he was 28 years old.

Yarbrough was responding to a routine after-hours partial power call at a Lundy Lane home in Big Pine Key, along with his partner Michael Euliss. While working on the roof of the home Yarbrough was electrocuted, the circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.

Euliss had KEYS’ Dispatch Center cut power to the electrical feeder immediately and began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). “Euliss responded remarkably and performed heroically to try to resuscitate his partner,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO. Yarbrough was transported by ambulance to Fisherman’s Hospital in Marathon Key, Florida, where he was pronounced dead.

Yarbrough worked for the utility for seven years, and began as an Apprentice Lineman on June 6, 2005. After completing the four-year training program Yarbrough was promoted to Journeyman Lineman status on June 6, 2009.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire KEYS family are with the Yarbrough family during this difficult time,” said Tejeda.
