12/19/2012 ~ Keys Energy Services (KEYS) Hurricane Sandy Restoration Crew was recently recognized by the Key West Chamber of Commerce with a ‘Piece of the Rock’ award in honor of the assistance they gave to the residents of Long Island, New York, in the aftermath of the storm and the positive image of Key West that was shared.

Key West Chamber of Commerce president Jim Wilson presented the award to KEYS’ crew and explained that they face tough and dangerous work on a daily basis in order to continue powering paradise. He added that, “this year the challenges of their work was brought into sharp focus as a result of their work during Tropical Storm Isaac in the Florida Keys, the assistance they provided to the Long Island Power Authority after Hurricane Sandy struck the Northeast, and the passing of Lineman Josh Yarbrough in the line of duty.”
