04/10/2013 ~ Ed Giesler has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2013.

Giesler has worked for the Utility for over 13-years and currently serves as a Project Engineer within KEYS’ Engineering department. In his current position he is responsible for managing new construction and replacement projects. Giesler added that, “completing projects,” is what he finds most rewarding about his job.

Giesler was born in Jasper, Indiana, and is a graduate of Purdue University. He moved to the Florida Keys in 1996 and lives on Cudjoe Key. He and his wife Pam have two adult children, Maureen and Adrian. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and hunting.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers and/or supervisors. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance, among others.

The Utility Board will recognize Giesler as the Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2013 during an upcoming meeting. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building lobby, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra day off.
