10/07/2013 ~ On Monday, October 7th, Utility Board member Peter Batty was sworn into office by Key West City Clerk Cheryl Smith at Old City Hall in Key West. Batty was re-elected, without opposition, to the Group Two seat. He will serve a shortened three-year term that will allow for Utility Board elections to line up with State of Florida elections on even-numbered years. Beginning in 2016, the Group Two term will return to four-years.

Batty was first appointed to the Board in 2005 and has been a Key West resident since 1989. He is a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker and Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit and Family Mediator. On November 18, 2000, he was ordained as a Permanent Deacon to the Archdiocese of Miami.
