01/09/2014 ~ The Utility Board awarded a preferred vendor leasing contract for four bucket trucks to Altec Capital Services, LLC in the amount of $613,264.00 at their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, January 8th.

The new bucket trucks are expected to be delivered in November 2014, and will replace four existing bucket trucks that have extensive metal fatigue due to the corrosive environment of the Florida Keys. The existing bucket trucks will be declared surplus at the end of their life.

The new trucks will be leased for a predetermined term of 84-months, with a planned return at the expiration of the lease period. This strategy will allow Keys Energy Services to stay in the most up-to-date equipment which will ultimately yield in production and safety measures, as well as lower maintenance costs.

The regular meeting of the Utility Board took place at 5:00 p.m., January 8th, in the Louis Carbonell Board Room of the William Arnold Service Building, 1001 James Street, Key West.
