06/12/2014 ~ The Utility Board approved a 20-year integrity study of Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) transmission facilities (TIELINE) at their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 11th. Leidos Engineering, LLC was awarded a consulting services agreement to complete the study at an estimated price of $141,515.

The TIELINE study will comprise a review of all KEYS supplied maintenance records, capital projects, and inspection reports. The consultant will also perform on-site visual inspections and issue a field inspection report of land and water-based facilities. A final report will be provided to the Utility Board in early 2016 with recommendations for the continued reliability of the TIELINE over the next 20-years.

“KEYS exceptional reliability statistics are impressive on their own, but even more so when you consider that our power is imported over water and that our system faces the constant threat of a corrosive, marine environment,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO. She added that, “the TIELINE is 27-years old this year, the study will help us ensure our maintenance standards will guarantee its reliability well into the future.”

The regular meeting of the Utility Board took place at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11th, in the Louis Carbonell Board Room of the William Arnold Service Building, 1001 James Street, Key West.
