KEYS DEVELOPS APP TO STREAMLINE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

06/16/2014 ~ Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) recently developed a Damage Assessment Reporting Tool (DART) application that will help employees expedite field assessments and repairs.

The application was created for KEYS’ employees to use on mobile platforms when in the field conducting surveys, assessing damage to the system, and during hurricane restoration efforts. The system uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) of KEYS’ infrastructure to create work tickets that identify the issue and link it to specific utility structures to help further expedite repairs.

While there are similar applications available on the market, KEYS’ DART application is proprietary to the utility and specific to its needs. The application was created by KEYS’ Information Technology (IT) department, in conjunction with IT Consultant Dave Morris, at a cost of $3,000.

“KEYS has been consistently nationally recognized for our reliability efforts by the American Public Power Association since 2005,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO. She added that, “the DART application will help us maintain our robust reliability program and ensure the prompt identification and repair of all potential issues.”
