09/25/2014 ~ The Utility Board approved a contract for vehicle and equipment fuel at their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, September 24th.

The unit price contract for the purchase and delivery of B6 Bio-Diesel fuel blend was awarded to Blaylock Oil Company, Inc. for an estimated cost of $116,185.93. The use of Bio-Diesel 6-percent blend provides an estimated carbon dioxide reduction of 38,715.02 pounds per year. The unit price contract for the purchase and delivery of premium no-lead non ethanol gasoline was awarded to Dion Oil Company, LLC for an estimated amount of $59,623.28.

In other business, the Board:

- Approved a three year sole source consulting agreement with Aegisys for a disaster recovery solution with an annual cost of $30,750, beginning October 1, 2014, through September 20, 2017. The agreement provides a recovery solution to KEYS for its various software applications.

- Approved the payment to the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) for Fiscal Year 2015 (October 1, 2014, through September 30, 2015) annual dues in the amount of $35,910. FMEA represents the unified interests of 34 public power communities across Florida. The mission of FMEA is to support and promote the interests of its members through information, advocacy, and service.

The regular meeting of the Utility Board took place at 5:00 p.m., September 24th, in the Louis Carbonell Board Room of the William Arnold Service Building, 1001 James Street, Key West.
