TORRADO NAMED OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE OF THE FOURTH QUARTER

10/02/2014 ~ Julio J. Torrado has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2014.

Torrado has worked for the Utility for 11-years and has served as its Communications/Marketing Coordinator for the duration of his tenure. He is responsible for coordinating communication & marketing strategies for all 29,000 KEYS’ customers and articulating communication messages to local, regional, and national media outlets. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining content for multiple communication platforms, planning annual events and special projects, and overseeing internal communications for KEYS’ employees. Under his watch KEYS has won numerous awards for excellence in communications, including the prestigious Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation from the Public Relations Society of America.

Torrado was born and raised in Key West, Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science in Communication degree from the University of Miami, where he double majored in Public Relations & International Studies and minored in Marketing. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Leo University, where he concentrated in Human Resource Management. Torrado is also very active in the local community and currently serves as Vice Chair of Wesley House Family Services and on the boards of the San Carlos Institute and Harry S. Truman Little White House. He is also an adjunct professor at Florida Keys Community College.

The Utility Board will recognize Torrado as the Outstanding Employee of the Fourth Quarter during their regular meeting on Wednesday, October 8th. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that hangs in the William Arnold Service Building, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra vacation day.
