KEYS’ THOMAS GRASSI TO RETIRE AFTER 30-YEARS OF SERVICE

12/19/2014 ~ On December 31, 2014, Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Thomas Grassi, will retire after 29-years and 9-months of continuous service to the Utility.

Grassi was originally hired in 1985 when City Electric System still graced the side of the Utility’s trucks. During his tenure he held numerous positions within the Utility, including Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Foreman, Journey Lineman, and Apprentice Lineman, prior to completing his career as a T&D Supervisor.

When asked about his most memorable experiences at KEYS, Grassi cited working alongside his cousin Tony Medina, along with assisting with restoration efforts in Homestead for six weeks in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew.

In reminiscing about his time at KEYS, Grassi said he will miss seeing his co-workers every day. When asked about the secret to his longevity he attributed it to his, “commitment and pride for my job and KEYS.”

Grassi is a native Conch and along with his wife Sabrina has raised three children, Nicolas, Tennille and Blaine, in the southernmost city and is a grandfather to three.

In retirement Grassi hopes to spend more time with his family and enjoying his hobbies of boating, spear fishing, hunting, biking, and golfing. After a 30-year career at KEYS he has more than earned the right to make his own schedule.
