12/18/2015 ~ On December 31, 2015, Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Suzanne Padron Greager, will retire after 31-years of continuous service to the Utility.

Greager was originally hired in 1984 when City Electric System still graced the Utility’s letterhead. During her tenure she held various positions within the Utility and all within the same department, including Clerk Typist, Personnel Representative, Senior Human Resources (HR) Assistant, HR Specialist, and HR Director, prior to completing her career as Director of Management Services. Greager has also served on KEYS’ Pension Board of Trustees for 24-years and has served as its Vice Chair for the last 10-years. She has also been a long standing member in the Florida Keys Society for Human Resources Management and is a past president.

When asked about her most memorable experience at KEYS, Greager cited her work on researching and initiating KEYS’ self-insurance program. Among the biggest changes she has witnessed during her tenure was working with her HR mentor Mary Greenwood to implement a drug free workplace, and constant improvements to safety to protect the interests of KEYS and its employees.

In reminiscing about her time at KEYS Greager said she will miss the day-to-day interactions with her department employees and co-workers, many of which have turned into friendships and she considers like family. As for the secret to her longevity, she said there is no better place to work than KEYS where you are provided with excellent benefits and continuous opportunities for growth.

Greager and her husband of 28-years, Todd, raised their children Taylor and Todd Jr. in Key West. In retirement Greager plans to help her husband at Todd’s Garage, hunt, fish, and read. After a 31-year career at KEYS she has more than earned the right to set her own schedule in the years ahead.
