02/25/2016 ~ Roger George has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter for 2016.

George has worked for the Utility for 28-years and currently serves as a Power System Coordinator in KEYS’ Control Center. In his current position he is responsible for power management in the Lower Florida Keys. He stated that his favorite thing about KEYS is, “the diversity of people I work with and the friendly, family-like environment.” He added that, “every day is a learning experience with a constant evolution of technology.”

George was born and raised in Key West and is a graduate of Key West High School. In his spare time George enjoys spending time with family, fishing, diving with his son Michael, and relaxing on an island beach.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance.

The Utility Board will recognize George as the Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter during an upcoming regular meeting. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that will hang in KEYS’ Service Building, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra vacation day.
