04/08/2016 ~ Robert DePhillips Jr. has been named Keys Energy Services’ (KEYS) Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter for 2016.

DePhillips has worked for the Utility since 2013 and currently serves as a Project Engineer in KEYS’ Transmission & Distribution department. In his current position he is responsible for performing electrical engineering design work and support for the Transmission & Distribution and Generation departments. He stated that, “every day people use and rely on electricity, to be part of the path in providing that is very rewarding.”

DePhillips was born in Randolph, Vermont, and moved to Key West in 2012. He is a graduate of Vermont Technical College and the Rochester Institute of Technology. In his spare time DePhillips enjoys activities that keep him in the sun and water.

The Employee of the Quarter Committee selects an employee four times a year for this award. Employees are considered for the award after being nominated by their peers. Final selection of the outstanding employee is based on several factors, which include attendance, attitude, efficiency, initiative, and job performance.

The Utility Board will recognize DePhillips as the Outstanding Employee of the Second Quarter during an upcoming regular meeting. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that will hang in KEYS’ Service Building, he will receive a $250 bonus, and an extra vacation day.
