Connect Service

Online

Fill out a Contract for Service form online. You may type directly into the form fields from your computer, then submit, save or print the form. If the form is submitted online to KEYS successfully, you will receive a confirmation email within one business day.

In Person

If you’d like to visit in person at our Key West Customer Service office, we are located at 1001 James Street. We’re at the corner of James and Grinnell streets across from the City of Key West’s parking garage called the Park & Ride – near Key West Bight.

You can send your documents to Customer Service via fax at 305-295-1085.

To establish service, the following items are required:

  • A Contract for Service form
  • A valid driver’s license or equivalent photo identification
  • A rent receipt, lease agreement, or copy of a warranty deed
  • Commercial customers establishing a new account shall provide a service deposit equivalent to the monthly average of the previous twelve (12) months’ billing X 2, with a minimum deposit equal to $150.00 – including applicable Transaction Fee charges. In lieu of a cash deposit, commercial customers may request to obtain an Irrevocable Letter of Credit, Surety Bond, or Assignment of Certificate of Deposit. Deposits receive simple interest at a rate set by the Utility Board.
  • Any account that must be in a corporation’s name must be signed for by an officer of the corporation, and a copy of the articles of incorporation must be furnished to KEYS. The documents must list the corporate officer who is requesting electrical service. If the above is unavailable, KEYS may accept a Corporate Statement on company letterhead (see required sample verbiage), or in place of letterhead, the statement must be submitted with a business card attached for the representative requesting the service. The statement must either be notarized or accompanied by a copy of a valid government-issued photo identification.

Same Day Service for Connection/Disconnection at the Meter

Please use the time chart below to determine by when you will need to sign up to receive same-day service. Make note the further north you live from Key West, the earlier you must come in.

  • Sunshine Key to Ramrod Key: 1:30 p.m.
  • Summerland Key to Sugarloaf Key: 2:30 p.m.
  • Bay Point to Rockland Key: 3:30 p.m.
  • Key Haven to Key West: 4:30 p.m.

Disconnect Service

To disconnect your electric service, you can choose how you would like to submit the form. Please be advised that the electric service will be subject to disconnection as of 8:00 a.m. on the requested termination date. The requested termination date must be a KEYS’ business day.

Online

Fill out a Termination of Electric Service form online. You may type directly into the fields, then submit, save, and print it. If the form is submitted to KEYS successfully, you will receive a confirmation email within one business day.
