Conserving During Peak Periods
Energy conservation, in general, is a good thing, but it goes a lot further and can have a bigger impact if we step up our conservation efforts at peak times.
From October to April, KEYS asks you to make an extra effort to reduce energy conservation between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00AM.
From May to September, KEYS asks you to make an extra effort to reduce energy conservation between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00PM.
From October to April you can:
- Turn your AC up or off to keep it from running while the house is empty.
- Make sure your water heater timer is set to when you need it so it does not run all day.
- Make sure your pool pump takes a break during this time.
From May to September you can:
- Hold off on starting laundry until early evening.
- Set your dishwasher to run when you go to bed so you have clean dishes waiting for you when you wake up.
- Make sure your pool pump takes a break during this time.
